An HDMI switch does the opposite: it takes multiple sources, such as a Blu-ray player, a computer, and a game console, and lets you choose which one sends its signal to a single display. These are the two foundational devices in this category, but their simple definitions hide a complex interplay of electronics and signal management that any professional needs to understand to avoid costly failures.
Consider a common scenario in a modern office: a conference room with a large display mounted on the wall. The presenter has a laptop, but the room is also equipped with a dedicated conferencing camera and a wireless presentation system.
