A household appliance circuit board is the small printed circuit board mounted inside a washing machine, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, or microwave that controls the appliance's electrical functions. It receives input from the user through buttons or a touch panel, reads signals from sensors such as temperature probes, door switches, and water level sensors, and then switches power to the motors, heating elements, valves, and pumps that do the actual work. In a modern machine, this board is the appliance's brain, and when it fails, the appliance behaves in a way that often looks like a mechanical problem. A dryer that does not heat, a washing machine that stops mid-cycle, or a refrigerator that runs but never gets cold — many of these failures trace back to an electronic board, not a seized motor or a broken belt.
To understand what these boards are, it helps to think of them as a small computer with a specific job. Every circuit board in a household appliance does the same basic thing: it takes in electrical power from the wall, processes information from a few inputs, and switches electrical power to a few outputs according to a program.
