The Complete Handbook of Body & Facial Hair Bleach

As an esthetician who's been doing this for a decade, I thought I knew most of what there was to know. This book filled in a lot of the 'why' behind what I do. The breakdown of peroxide volumes and how they actually interact with different hair textures on the body was more detailed than anything in my original training. I docked a star because the chapter on suppliers is already starting to feel a bit dated with how fast the market moves, but the foundational chemistry and troubleshooting sections are worth the price alone.

There's a lot of solid information here, and I respect that it doesn't talk down to you or try to sell you a specific brand. The troubleshooting section is genuinely useful for when things go wrong. But I feel like the book could have used more real-world comparison tables. It talks a lot about specifications, but I would have appreciated a few more head-to-head examples of what that actually looks like on a patch test. It's a bit dense for a casual hobbyist, but for a serious professional it's a decent reference to have around.

I bought this looking for practical business advice on private labeling, and there's a good chapter on that. However, I think the book spends a little too much time on the fundamentals of chemical reactions and not enough on the actual packaging and regulatory compliance steps you need for a new product. It's a good technical manual, but the title suggests a 'complete handbook' which is a bit of an overstatement. It's useful, definitely, just don't expect it to hold your hand through every single legal hurdle.
