This is a solid, practical reference that I've already used twice to double-check my cement selection for a tricky case. I docked a star because I feel like the troubleshooting section could have been more comprehensive, especially on the rarer complications. Still, it's a valuable addition to my desk, and I expect to wear it out over time.

However, the first half of the book is definitely aimed at a clinician, and as a supply manager, the clinical detail was more than I needed. The chapters on choosing the right cement were interesting, but they assume a level of chairside knowledge that I don't have. The business chapter is good, though, and makes the purchase worthwhile for me.

Finally, a book that treats dental cement with the seriousness it deserves. The chapter on understanding the materials was fantastic, it's the clearest explanation of resin-modified glass ionomer chemistry I've ever read, and it actually helped me fix a recurring debonding issue I was having with a specific crown system. The advice on selecting the right cement is worth the price alone. It's definitely a permanent part of my lab resource library.

It's a decent reference, but I felt the tone was a bit too academic in places, even for a textbook. The chapter on future trends was interesting, but it was too brief and didn't offer much in the way of concrete predictions. The glossary is very useful, and the maintenance and troubleshooting chapter has some great tips. It's the kind of book you'll consult for a specific fact rather than read cover to cover.
