But I felt the business opportunities chapter was a bit optimistic for a product sold for ten bucks online, and the installation section was overkill for something that takes two minutes. Fine as a reference, but not the complete business bible the back cover suggests.

As an upholsterer, I thought I knew most of this. The chapter on material specs is solid, and the maintenance section finally gave me a good process for cleaning these without ruining the neoprene. I docked a couple of stars because the troubleshooting section on buckle interference didn't cover the specific issue I see on certain Honda models, but for a general reference, it's mostly on point. I'll keep it on the shelf.

I've added covers as an add-on service, and the installation chapter taught me to check for things I completely missed before, like stitching overlap on the buckle shroud. The flame resistance section is a genuine eye-opener. The little checklist before the maintenance chapter is worth the price alone if you do this professionally. I do wish the photos were in color, but the text gets the job done.

The premise is good, but the execution is a bit dry. I appreciate that it's not marketing fluff, but some of the product comparisons felt like they were written from a desk rather than a workshop. For example, more time talking about real-world wear with kids and dogs would have been more useful than the detailed explanation of thread tension. It's a useful reference, just don't expect a page-turner.

The glossary is very handy when dealing with factory paperwork overseas. The only reason it's not a 5-star is the lack of a physical quick-reference chart for buckle sizes across vehicle brands; I still have a sticky note on page 34 to remind me of the clearance math.

Bought this as a newbie reseller on Amazon and needed a primer. It definitely explains the difference between the cheap stuff and the grade you shouldn't be ashamed to sell. The maintenance section is overkill for my use case, but the business chapter gave me a sustainable path for private labeling that didn't sound like a hustle. I am glad I read it before buying my first thousand units, saved me from making a major quality mistake.
